On August 19th, 2025, the "2025 Academic Seminar on Competition Issues in the Local Life Services Market", hosted by the School of International Law CUPL / School of Foreign-Related Rule of Law CUPL ,and co-organized by the Research Center for Competition Law, CUPL and the China Institute of International Antitrust and Investment, was successfully held in Room 0111 of the Comprehensive Building at CUPL. The seminar focused on the new competitive landscape of the local life services market within the digital economy, delving into cutting-edge issues such as platform subsidy competition, data governance, and the protection of merchant rights and interests.

The opening ceremony was presided over by Professor Dai Long from the School of International Law CUPL / School of Foreign-Related Rule of Law CUPL.

Following this, Professor Shi Jianzhong, Dean of the CUPL Institute for Data Law; Zhang Qiong, former Deputy Director of the Legislative Affairs Office of the State Council of the People's Republic of China, and former Deputy Chief Procurator of the Supreme People's Procuratorate of the People’s Republic of China, Li Qing, Vice President of the China Society of Economic Reform; and Yin Yanling, former Level-2 Bureau Rank Official of the Department II of Anti-Monopoly Enforcement of the State Administration for Market Regulation, participated in the discussion and delivered remarks.

During the session on "Competitive Relationships and Legal Regulation", Professor Yuan Xiaoshuang from the Intellectual Property school of the East China University of Political Science and Law, Professor Li Yongjian from the University of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Professor Jiao Haitao from the Civil, Commercial and Economic Law School, CUPL, and Professor Zhou Qingjie from the School of Economics, Beijing Technology and Business University addressed remarks respectively.

In the session on "Regulatory Approaches and Policy Recommendations", perspectives were shared by Professor Yang Dong, Dean of the Renmin University of China Law School, Professor Wang Yong, Tenured Professor in the Tsinghua University Institute of Economics and Director of the Digital Economy Research Center; Professor Chen Bing, Vice Dean of the Nankai University School of Law, Associate Professor Tan Yuan from the University of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, and Wang Xuan, Senior Consultant at JYC Law Firm.


Finally, Professor Fan Xiaobo, Director of the Institute of International Economic Law of the School of International Law CUPL / School of Foreign-Related Rule of Law CUPL, delivered the concluding speech.
