Welcome to 2014 China WTO Moot Court Competition

The China WTO Moot Court Competition is a simulation of disputes between two or more countries before the WTO Dispute Settlement Body. Participants need to submit Written submissions for both Complainant and Respondent based on the WTO law and precedents. They will also present oral submissions in front of the panel. Their overall performance decides their final place.

The China WTO Moot Court Competition is jointly held by   China University of Political Science and Law (CUPL), Southwest University of Political Science and law (SUPL) and the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China (MOFCOM). The China WTO MC is designed to advance academic understanding of the WTO and its agreements, to contribute to discussions on globalization and trade, and to develop students’ competence of legal skills and advocacy skills.  

This competition will be held on an annual basis. This year’s (2014) competition will be held by China University of Political Science and Law in Beijing. Judges of this Moot Court are officials of MOFCOM and professors who are specialized in WTO. Professors from other area who are specialized in Moot Court Competition will also be invited.

The deadline for registration is 12pm on Monday, 20 October 2014.

The deadline for written submission is 12pm on Thursday, 20 November 2014.

The Oral competition will be held on 29 and 30 November 2014, in China University of Political Science and Law.
